In case of there's less that 8 MB of RAM MiniLinux will add a swap file of about 8 MB. Copy all files to c:\ To install MiniLinux execute mlinux.exe which will unpack the distribution. NOTE: You cannot install MiniLinux upon a compressed DOS disk and you cannot start it from under win95. If you are using win95 you'll need to boot your system into "command prompt only". You do that by pressing F8 while your win95 is booting and then selecting command prompt from the menu. After you get the DOS prompt you can start installing and using MiniLinux. After unpacking the distribution, if you have a TNC or a PK232 for packet radio operation, you need to edit c:\linux\linux.bat in order to put an appropriate line to make the controllers speak the KISS mode. If MiniLinux was istalled on a drive other than c: make changes to the linux.bat file accordingly: \linux\boot\loadlin \linux\boot\bzimage root=/dev/hda1 rw Instead of /dev/hda1 that corresponds to drive C: in dos speak change it to appropriate value (see description in linux.bat file). If everything is OK so far launch MiniLinux with the command: linux.bat MiniLinux can be downloaded from the following anonymous FTP: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ftp.ampr.torun.pl = /pub/linux/hamradio/linux/minilinux/ All notes and remarks on the mini distribution will be welcome.
