In the beginning I had this issue as well. If you recall the email thread
between g1fef, you, and myself this was something Chris initially did from
the pressure of the 44net BGP community which has total disregard to the
ipencap folks. Chris did add an entry in the rip tables at amprgate so
routing to the portal, www.ampr.org, hub_eu, etc all may be encapsulated
via UCSD now. I did test this with Chris and it's been fine since.

If ampr-ripd is not populating routes to your tunl0, this is most likely
caused by sending RIP to your JNOS2 system via a DMZ and not to your primary 
tunl0 IP... but  if you're happy with what you have that's great :)
